What Does It Taste Like?

Real Soconusco cacao beans have an earthy aroma and a bitter taste, they also have a balanced acidity, full body profile and distinct flavors of dried fruits, nuts and several spices.

How Is It Used?

Crunchy, bitter and delicious, Cacao beans can be eaten raw as a snack.  You can also dip them in chocolate or cinnamon, or crumble them for a crunchy topping on dairy-free yogurt, granola or in smoothie bowls.  Other common uses are for hot sweet beverages like Hot Chocolate and Cacao or Chocolate Tea.

Cacao beans (also referred to as Cocoa beans or simply cacao or cocoa) are the dried and fully fermented seed of the Theobroma cacao.  Beware: there are many adulterated products out there that include chemicals and other added ingredients. Our Cacao beans are 100% natural and sourced directly from our farms in Mexico.

      To preserve your cacao beans they must be kept in a cool, dry and sealed location. Refrigeration and freezing isn't recommended due to moisture which is not good for the cacao beans.
