Spices That Will Show Your Liver Some Love

British Liver Trust is a charitable organization in The United Kingdom which has a focus in the health of the liver. The organization chose January to be "Love Your Liver" awareness month, because they want the nation and the world to show their liver some love and take their first steps towards better liver health.

The liver is a fascinating organ and a multi-tasker. It primarily processes nutrients from food, makes bile, removes toxins from the body, and builds proteins. It metabolizes many drugs. It breaks down fat and produces cholesterol. It converts glycogen into glucose. It creates immune factors necessary to fight infection and has over 500 vital jobs to do to keep you alive.

Spices are a good source for nutrients, and some spices have beneficial compounds that could help promote liver health.
